Sooooo tell me, what are your 4th of July plans?! BBQing? Vacationing? Watching the fireworks? Fill me in.
If you’re celebrating, do you have your menu planned out yet? One of my favorite parts of the holiday is seeing all the creative red, white and blue desserts. My mom used to make a cake with cool whip, blueberries and strawberries so it looked like an American flag. I’m willing to bet you’ve had something similar, but if you haven’t…definitely try it out next week.
Have you seen the show The Chew on ABC? It’s a daytime food talk show offering recipes, entertaining tips, etc. I watch it from time to time if I’m at the gym during the day. Each host has a different background and conducts their own segments on the show. All centered around food, of course.
If you need an easy dessert idea for the 4th, check out Carla from The Chew’s Summer Berry Pudding (see video here). It’s a festive, no-bake (no need to heat up your house by turning on the oven!) layered dessert that comes out looking like a cake of sorts. It’s a great way to take advantage of fresh in-season berries!
